Study of the evolutionary paradigm that unifies the science of biology. Origin, refinement and the contemporary form of evolutionary theory, with the objective of understanding its use in organizing the data, ideas and research of the biological sciences. The study will critique some of the popular caricatures of the evolutionary paradigm. No lab. Prerequisites: BI 140 and BI 141; junior standing recommended. Also listed as BI 333W and LS 333.
